In the Excellence Laboratory‘s Opera workshop, participants receive technical, musical, body awareness, and mental training in one-on-one and »team teaching« settings.

Center of the course is the work on musical style of German Repertoire, Mozart/Barock, Italian and French Belcanto with four internationally acclaimed instructors (Hedwig Fassbender, Fausto Nardi, Enrico Maria Cacciari, René Massis), and we also focus on Audition training with Mathias Hermann, Mental training with Petra Keßler, Feldenkrais with Rebecca Meitlis, advice in clothing and make-up with Amélie Sator and Nadja Akra.

Despite of the CORONA-Pandemic, Exzellenz-Labor Gesang 2020 can be held as planned. Besides the founding artists Hedwig Fassbender, Fausto Nardi und René Massis (Photo), the other instructors will also be there, of course! The participants have been chosen and we are looking forward to 11 days of most intense work.
10/11 June: Klanglabor Brixen Classics
The course offers the possibility of chamber music work with instrumentalists and participation in orchestra concerts.
22 August – 1 September: exzellenz labor oper
The course has been given a slightly different name and a more modern new website, but the wonderful teachers and challenging content have remained the same.
20 – 26 September: IMAS/Castle Bückeburg
A „normal“ singing masterclass in the beautiful castle of Bückeburg. Accompanied on the piano by Susanna Klovsky.
Among other things, the challenge for young singers and pianists in opera studios is to intelligently and confidently integrate the input of various guest instructors into their own singing and playing. I am fortunate to be able to work regularly with the young singers and pianists of several opera studios, thereby ensuring a certain degree of continuity.
The technical foundations of my teaching are flexible, flowing breath, a slender method of vocalization, and a sensible employment of the resonance cavities.
The goal is to have created a stable technical framework for complete „artistic permeability,“ which will allow the singer to be free in their artistic and musical interpretations, and for them to enjoy a healthy and long-term pursuit of our highly demanding profession.
